Grace Mykonos Hotel

The brief was to refurbish an existing property on the island of Mykonos. Taking the idea of grace as the starting point, modern interiors are deliberately pared down to create a fresh interpretation of traditional Cycladic style. The 32 guest rooms are distributed over five levels to maximise privacy. Balconies seem to hover above the sea and the swimming-pool is eye-level with the horizon. Bringing nature indoors, the reception was conceived as a sea bed, the spa and fitness centre as an imaginary forest. Backlit photographic murals of blossoms or seascapes inject colour into all-white bedrooms that are breezy and bright.
